The first thing you notice about the Philips TL-D Super 80 is the low investment costs. This product is extremely competitively priced. But in addition to the low investment costs, this fluorescent tube has
6 other important features:
- Dimensions and wattage consumption
- Common G13 Fitting
- Suitable for conventional and electronic ballast
- Light color: cool white
- Longevity with good lumen maintenance
- Low amount of mercury
- Bonus: This way you save extra energy
Dimensions and wattage consumption
If you want to place the fluorescent tube in your current fixture, the size is of course very important. This tube is 59cm long. Fluorescent tubes always have the same wattage consumption for a certain size. Fluorescent tubes of 59cm always consume 18W.
Common G13 Fitting
This TL-D tube has a G13 fitting. This means that the pins are 13mm apart. The tube itself has a diameter of 28mm. Are you looking for a thinner tube? Then view our T5 fluorescent tubes. These have a G5 fitting, where the pins are 5mm apart. Installation of the G13 fitting is easy: you slide the tube into the fixture and turn it a quarter turn. The tube indicates which end should go into which part of the fixture.
Suitable for conventional and electronic ballast
Fluorescent fixtures always use a ballast (ballast). This ballast can work in two ways: conventionally, also known as electromagnetically, or electronically. If you want to install this TL-D tube in a conventional fixture, you must also install a starter. By checking whether there is room for a starter, indicated by a small hole in your fixture, you will know whether you have a conventional or electronic fixture.
Light color: cool white
This color is mainly used in offices because it keeps employees awake. The cool light has an activating effect. This color is also suitable for parking lots. The color temperature is 4000 Kelvin. The color rendering of this tube is >80 Ra, which indicates that colors appear almost real when this lamp shines on it.
Longevity with good lumen maintenance
This series of TL-D tubes has a lifespan of 20,000 hours. It is sometimes said about conventional lighting that the lumen emission, which indicates how much light a lamp emits, decreases during its lifespan. The Philips Super 80 has excellent lumen maintenance and therefore hardly decreases in light emission as the burning hours pass. We also offer you a 1-year Lampdirect All-in warranty from the moment you purchase this tube.
Low amount of mercury
Mercury is used to generate light in fluorescent tubes. The amount of mercury used is minimal and therefore very little in this tube. If your fluorescent tube breaks, you don't have to worry about your health. Wear gloves when you clean up the shards and hand them in a closed bag with the chemical waste. It is wise to properly ventilate the area where the pipe broke.
