Jewellery cleaning products should be chosen according to the materials or stones to be cleaned. To clean silver jewellery, choose the Silver range. For gold jewellery, the Gold range. For natural stones or pearls, the Fine Stones range. For costume or zirconium jewellery, the Fashion Jewelry range. For diamond jewellery, clean with the Jewel range or the Precious Stones Pencil. Finally, for stainless steel watches and accessories, opt for the Metal Bracelet Cleaner or the Stainless Steel Cloth. 

Hagerty offers 3 different ways to care for your jewellery:

- Cleaning baths (Clean). This is a jar containing a cleaning formula specially dedicated to the type of metal/stone and a basket in which you can gently place your precious objects to soak them in the liquid. Simply leave your jewellery in the bath for 2-3 minutes, rinse and dry thoroughly. And there you have it, your jewellery is sparkling again. 

- Cloth for jewellery: This is a cotton cloth impregnated with a formula that lets you gently polish your jewellery to remove any oxidation and dirt. For a perfect shine, combine the bath with the appropriate cloth for the metal of your object. This cleaning product is the safest way to clean your jewellery if you are in any doubt about how to clean it.

- Precious Stones Pencil. This cleaning product comes in the form of a pen and a small brush that contains a cleaning gel specially dedicated to caring for precious stones. It helps you reach and clean even the smallest nooks and crannies on your precious object (like under the claws of a diamond, for example). Easy to carry and use, it makes your diamond rings shine wherever you are.

The difference between baths and cloths:

The baths allow a complete and deep care of the precious objects, which are immersed in the exclusive Hagerty formulas. They are very easy to use and contain a basket to put the jewellery in. The objects are perfectly cleaned in a few minutes. The baths are long-lasting, so don't be afraid to use them again several months after opening.

The impregnated cloths allow a quick maintenance. They allow you to shine your jewellery every day. Simply polish the jewellery with the cloth to restore the shine. Be careful not to wash or wet the cloths, otherwise it will lose the impregnated cleaning formula. Once it is dirty, it should be changed.

How do I choose the ideal product?

Our products are specific to each jewellery material or stone. If some jewels cannot be cleaned with the same product, it is preferable to focus on the most delicate part of the piece (for example, an emerald), clean it in the specific bath, then complete the cleaning with a cloth for the rest of the piece (generally silver or gold).

How should I store my jewellery?

Once cleaned and sparkling, it's important to take a few precautions to keep your jewellery clean over time. 

Store your precious jewellery in a box that you can close, to avoid leaving it in the open air. Air and humidity tend to turn metal black. In addition, to avoid scratching your jewellery, don't hesitate to separate them, using the compartments available in your box for example.

Finally, we advise you to remove your jewellery when swimming, playing sport, washing dishes, doing the housework or even sleeping.
